The Picket Line at the Museum of Chinese in America

Who is killing Chinatown? Mega landlord Jonathan Chu has been profiting off of residents, workers and small businesses from Chinatown. When Jonathan Chu was board chair of the Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA), he negotiated a $35 million deal in exchange for supporting a mega jail in Chinatown. He also evicted the big Jing Fong banquet hall, it was the biggest dim sum hall on the East Coast and a real community center for Chinatown. Chu replaced Jing Fong with the showroom for Vitra, a luxury Swiss furniture store that gives back nothing to the community!

We demand Jonathan Chu and MOCA return the $35 million to the community and reopen the big Jing Fong at its original location.

Join us on the picket line outside of MOCA, at 215 Centre St., Thursday through Sunday 11 am to 1 pm.
